Cats and Fishes by Jeremy Carrillo

Notice happiness cards are 3.5" X 2" mini pieces of art with space on the backside to write a little observation of something going right in the world.

Jeremy Carrillo is a trombonist by profession, which is how I knew him first. He's also a talented artist. This series of cats and fishes was so charming, that it needed to be made into a set of happiness cards. There are 5 cats and 20 fishes in the 3 pictures (one cat and one fish are combined into a catfish!)

I started making them for several reasons:

• to share my mom's art (and other art I like)

• as a balm for the negativity in the world these days

• to pay better attention to all of the great things my students do in their lessons

The whimsy of the work brings a smile to everyone who gets a card.
