It's a Fantastic Fall Season

I can't believe that this was from 2006! It's still popular with my students. I have more up to date versions of some of the pieces, but I confess to coming back to this one because I love the illustrations.
For students who are just starting this fall, "Trick or Treat" and "Turkey Time" are great first lesson pieces. Nightmare Lullaby can be played with one hand or the other on a 5 note minor scale. It transposes easily- use the spider or skull circle, both are minor and a 5 note minor scale card.
You can check out an earlier blog about Spider Season to get the updated version of the Hairy Scary Spider in all keys. It works great with the 5 note scale card and the minor cadence card.
Using pieces students like and teaching transposition at the same time, no wonder I think the fall is so fantastic.
Happy Playing!
Sarah
